A wonderful team of experienced therapists who offer a unique approach to therapy.
Jianna Khouri
THERAPIST | master of SOCIAL WORK
If you’re feeling fed up with the weight of your emotions and feeling like every day is a struggle to manage, then therapy might be your next step. Therapy is the place for not only working through the traumatic and difficult parts of your life, but also the place to celebrate your progress and all the beautiful things that you experience along the way. "The goal is not to be cured, but to develop" (Dr. Gabor Mate)
My goal as a therapist is not to prevent emotional suffering, but to support you in your capacity to grow, heal, and manage the difficult parts of life. My role is to support and guide you in the process of uncovering your inner wisdom and strength. I strive to create a space that fosters self-understanding and connection from a compassionate, non-judgmental place of acceptance for who you are and what you’ve experienced. My work is trauma-informed and relational, because starting with a strong therapeutic relationship is important for allowing your experiences and authentic self to flow naturally.

My approach is tailored to you and often involves a blend of cognitive methods with body-centered and emotion-focused approaches. These include Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Hakomi-informed approaches like Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT). I have experience supporting people with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, difficult life transitions, and relationship stressors, among others.
With a master’s degree in clinical social work, I’m passionate about social justice and I believe that each person doing their own individual work is the first step to creating a more just, sustainable world around us. As a second generation Canadian, I understand first-hand the importance of acknowledging how cultural identity can shape the way you experience therapy, recognizing that Culture is often foundational to your story. I also strive to be a supportive 2SLGBTQ+ ally and to hold space for every part of you to be seen, heard and valued.

THERAPIST | master of SOCIAL WORK
My work as a therapist is built on the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal when they feel seen, heard, and supported. I believe healing happens when we connect to ourselves, to others, and even to the messiest parts of our stories. Whether you’re navigating trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, or simply need a space to process what’s happening in your life, I’m here to support you in exploring whatever comes up. Big emotions, difficult situations, and colorful language are welcome and encouraged; nothing is off the table in my sessions.
I hold a master’s degree in clinical social work with a specialization in trauma-informed practice and take an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy. I use a range of therapeutic tools to fit your individual needs and help you make progress in ways that feel realistic and meaningful. I often draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to support your growth.

Before stepping into private practice, I spent several years working front-line in the mental health and addictions field, supporting adults through some of their most challenging moments. That work reinforced the importance of safety, honesty, and humor in my practice. Therapy does not have to be stiff or sterile to be healing. My own healing journey and long-term sobriety have greatly shaped my passion for this work as well. I know what it’s like to rebuild from the inside out, and I believe that no matter how stuck you may feel, healing is always possible. My goal is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and your own wisdom again.

THERAPIST | clinical SOCIAL WORKer
The philosophy that guides my approach to therapy is grounded in growth, meaning‑making, and personal responsibility. I believe that our experiences shape us, and that we each have agency in determining how those experiences influence the lives we create. My path to becoming a therapist began in 2013, working as a social worker in public healthcare, and later evolved into clinical practice with adults, couples, and groups. My passion for therapy is rooted in a deep curiosity about human behavior, and the stories people carry. I believe that all individuals have the capacity to grow, change, and live more fully aligned with the best versions of themselves. I am invested in my clients’ success and strive to support meaningful, effective change. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I understand change to be an active and intentional effort shared between therapist and client.
My practice reflects who I am as a person and a therapist - eclectic, authentic, insightful, and curious, with a dialectical lens and a touch of sarcasm, irreverence, and dry (sometimes unexpected) humor. I truly love this work because it allows me to connect with people in meaningful, impactful ways while continually challenging myself to learn, grow, and evolve. I believe accountability is essential, and I hold myself to the same standards I invite my clients to hold for themselves.

What can you expect from working with me? From our first session, you are invited to show up as you are, knowing that you will be met with respect and without judgment. It’s okay to be messy, awkward, quirky, and unpolished (don’t tell anyone, but I am too). We will openly discuss roles, expectations, and goals so that our work feels clear and collaborative. Throughout therapy, I strive to provide a safe, attentive, and supportive space where you can explore your experiences, reflect on what you are navigating, and gain perspective in a way that feels grounded and meaningful.
What approaches inform my practice? Get ready for the acronyms…My clinical training includes Advanced Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) intensive training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and introductory training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO). I have a strong passion for working with couples and am Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman Method trained, with additional experience and interest in supporting ethically non‑monogamous (ENM) relationships.
My work with couples also includes specialized education addressing relationship dynamics during pregnancy and the transition to parenthood. Additionally, I have a particular interest in working with individuals with ADHD and am actively pursuing further training and certification in this area. What can you expect from working with me?

"Change is our only constant." I often find myself saying this to my clients as well as myself when undergoing a sudden change, challenged through a difficult event, or simply trying to navigate the stressors of everyday life. Sometimes it is difficult to manage or adjust to changes on our own and we need additional support. I hope that with my expertise I can walk alongside you to provide support when it is most needed and to help you navigate the emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and stressors that are getting in the way of your wellness.
I have a special interest in working with youth, adults, families, and caregivers who are struggling with mood, personality disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidality, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Treatment may utilize strategies from CBT, DBT, ART, Solution-focused therapy, art therapy and other approaches.

Therapy and healing from past negative experiences is a journey and having effective support along the way is invaluable. With over 20 years of experience working in mental health and addictions, I believe that one of the most powerful elements in healing and achieving a life worth living is authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. I strive to bring compassion, humor, safety, respect and acceptance to the therapeutic process. I am also known to have a bit of a “potty mouth” as this is who I am! Using a trauma-informed lens, we will work to better understand our nervous system and the root causes of our struggles as well as learn new and effective coping tools, build on current strengths, and take on new challenges that are in alignment with your personal values and goals and work to heal from past painful experiences. Yes, healing is possible!
As a Counselling Therapist (CT) and Registered Occupational Therapist (OT-R), I specialize in providing trauma-focused psychotherapy. I am trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), am a Master Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART), Internal Family Systems Therapist (Level 1) and trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (Level 2).

I believe we all have the capacity to heal and learn how to live a life worth living, despite the challenging and painful experiences life may bring. Often, the coping strategies we develop to survive begin to create problems of their own if we don’t address the underlying causes. Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore, identify, and resolve these deeper issues, leading to transformational growth. Many clients share that, through therapy, they begin to feel lighter, no longer burdened by their past.
With over 35 years of experience supporting clients through a wide range of mental health, addiction, and trauma-related challenges, particularly developmental trauma, I bring a depth of understanding and compassion to my work.
“Know all the theories, Master all the techniques, But as you touch a human soul, be another human soul”. - Attributed to Carl. G. Jung.
I am a Counselling Therapist (CT), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), Certified Menopause Mental Health Provider (MMHPC) trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), an Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1 & 2) Therapist and a Certified Master Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART) helping people heal from trauma. I have delivered therapy through individual and group work, and I am passionate about both approaches.

My own lived experience with ADHD has deepened my understanding of the invalidation many clients face. It’s also fueled my commitment to helping others heal from shame responses and the harsh voice of the “inner critic,” while building self-esteem and developing practical strategies for daily life. As a nurse, I also provide education around stimulant medications and their role in emotion regulation, offering a holistic perspective on care.
Before moving to Canada in 2008 with my family, I spent over 15 years in management with the National Health Service (UK). I led diverse clinical teams, spearheaded organizational change, and implemented clinically driven service improvements. This background gives me insight into the complexities of team dynamics, and I offer coaching and leadership development for those navigating mental health challenges in the workplace.
I bring warmth, compassion, and humor to the therapy experience, helping you feel safe and empowered to create meaningful change. My goal is to support you in rediscovering the light within yourself and building the confidence to meet your goals.
I look forward to working with you as part of the Lihtan Therapy Collective.
