"Change is our only constant." I often find myself saying this to my clients as well as myself when undergoing a sudden change, challenged through a difficult event, or simply trying to navigate the stressors of everyday life. Sometimes it is difficult to manage or adjust to changes on our own and we need additional support. I hope that with my expertise I can walk alongside you to provide support when it is most needed and to help you navigate the emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and stressors that are getting in the way of your wellness.

I have a special interest in working with youth, adults, families, and caregivers who are struggling with mood, personality disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidality, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Treatment may utilize strategies from CBT, DBT, ART, Solution-focused therapy, art therapy and other approaches.

  • Asking for help can be the most difficult step to making a change. I can help you navigate the next steps towards wellness with support, encouragement, and empathy combined with therapeutic approaches that fit for you. I am passionate in helping people find hope, meaning, and purpose in a life full of change and unpredictability. Pure and simple.

Jianna Khouri

THERAPIST | master of SOCIAL WORK

"The goal is not to be cured, but to develop" (Dr. Gabor Mate). I believe that the point of therapy is not to free you from the struggles of life, but to support you in your growth and help you uncover your authentic self which holds your capacity to heal. My role as a therapist is to support and guide you in the process of rediscovering the wisdom and strength within you by building self-understanding and creating a space of compassionate, non-judgmental acceptance of who you are and what you’ve experienced. My work is trauma-informed and based in relationality as starting with a strong therapeutic relationship is important for allowing your experiences and authentic self to flow naturally.

My approach is tailored to you and often involves a blend of cognitive methods, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy, along with body-centered and emotion-focused approaches, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT). I have experience supporting people through ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, difficult life transitions, parenting stressors and intergenerational trauma, among others.

  • With a master’s degree in clinical social work, I’m passionate about social justice and I believe that each person doing their own individual work is the first step to creating a more just, sustainable world around us. As a second generation Canadian, I understand first-hand how the intersections of mental health, cultural identity and stigma can shape the way a person experiences therapy. I also strive to be an effective 2SLGBTQ+ ally and to hold space for every part of you to be seen, heard and valued.

If you’re feeling fed up with the weight of your emotions and feeling like every day is a struggle to manage, then therapy might be your next step. Therapy is the place for not only working through the traumatic and difficult parts of your life, but also the place to celebrate your progress and all the beautiful things that you experience along the way.

THERAPIST | master of SOCIAL WORK

My work as a therapist is built on the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal when they feel seen, heard, and supported. I believe healing happens when we connect to ourselves, to others, and even to the messiest parts of our stories. Whether you’re navigating trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, or simply need a space to process what’s happening in your life, I’m here to support you in exploring whatever comes up. Big emotions, difficult situations, and colorful language are welcome and encouraged; nothing is off the table in my sessions.

I hold a master’s degree in clinical social work with a specialization in trauma-informed practice and take an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy. I use a range of therapeutic tools to fit your individual needs and help you make progress in ways that feel realistic and meaningful. I often draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to support your growth.

  • Before stepping into private practice, I spent several years working front-line in the mental health and addictions field, supporting adults through some of their most challenging moments. That work reinforced the importance of safety, honesty, and humor in my practice. Therapy does not have to be stiff or sterile to be healing. My own healing journey and long-term sobriety have greatly shaped my passion for this work as well. I know what it’s like to rebuild from the inside out, and I believe that no matter how stuck you may feel, healing is always possible. My goal is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and your own wisdom again.

director/owner | COUNSELLING THERAPIST

Therapy and healing from past negative experiences is a journey and having effective support along the way is invaluable. With over 20 years of experience working in mental health and addictions, I believe that one of the most powerful elements in healing and achieving a life worth living is authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. I strive to bring compassion, humor, safety, respect and acceptance to the therapeutic process. I am also known to have a bit of a “potty mouth” as this is who I am! Using a trauma-informed lens, we will work to better understand our nervous system and the root causes of our struggles as well as learn new and effective coping tools, build on current strengths, and take on new challenges that are in alignment with your personal values and goals and work to heal from past painful experiences. Yes, healing is possible!

  • As a Counselling Therapist (CT) and Registered Occupational Therapist (OT-R), I specialize in providing trauma-focused psychotherapy. I am trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), am a Master Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART), Internal Family Systems Therapist (Level 1) and a Certified Safe and Sound Practitioner (SSP). My approach to therapy is also influenced by Polyvagal Theory and therapeutic interventions as well as Somatic Experiencing among others. I tend to describe my approach as eclectic and based on the needs of the client in front of me.  I have extensive experience working with individuals living with trauma, complex trauma (development and attachment trauma), substance use issues, personality disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders and mood disorders.

I know that reaching out to a new therapist can feel scary and overwhelming. I welcome chatting with you over a free 15 minute phone or virtual consultation to ensure that I am the right fit to assist you in reducing your distress, healing from past experiences and building a life that you perceive as worth living. I look forward to meeting and working with you as part of the Lihtan Therapy Collective.

director/owner | COUNSELLING THERAPIST

I believe we all have the capacity to heal and learn how to live a life worth living, despite the challenging and painful experiences life may bring. Often, the coping strategies we develop to survive begin to create problems of their own if we don’t address the underlying causes. Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore, identify, and resolve these deeper issues, leading to transformational growth. Many clients share that, through therapy, they begin to feel lighter, no longer burdened by their past.

With over 35 years of experience supporting clients through a wide range of mental health, addiction, and trauma-related challenges, particularly developmental trauma, I bring a depth of understanding and compassion to my work.

“Know all the theories, Master all the techniques, But as you touch a human soul, be another human soul”. - Attributed to Carl. G. Jung.

I am a Counselling Therapist (CT), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), Certified Menopause Mental Health Provider (MMHPC) trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), an Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1 & 2) Therapist and a Certified Master Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART) helping people heal from trauma. I have delivered therapy through individual and group work, and I am passionate about both approaches.

  • My own lived experience with ADHD has deepened my understanding of the invalidation many clients face. It’s also fueled my commitment to helping others heal from shame responses and the harsh voice of the “inner critic,” while building self-esteem and developing practical strategies for daily life. As a nurse, I also provide education around stimulant medications and their role in emotion regulation, offering a holistic perspective on care.

Before moving to Canada in 2008 with my family, I spent over 15 years in management with the National Health Service (UK). I led diverse clinical teams, spearheaded organizational change, and implemented clinically driven service improvements. This background gives me insight into the complexities of team dynamics, and I offer coaching and leadership development for those navigating mental health challenges in the workplace.

I bring warmth, compassion, and humor to the therapy experience, helping you feel safe and empowered to create meaningful change. My goal is to support you in rediscovering the light within yourself and building the confidence to meet your goals.

I look forward to working with you as part of the Lihtan Therapy Collective.

Audra Potter

THERAPIST | clinical SOCIAL WORKer

The philosophy that guides my approach to therapy is grounded in growth, meaning‑making, and personal responsibility.  I believe that our experiences shape us, and that we each have agency in determining how those experiences influence the lives we create.  My path to becoming a therapist began in 2013, working as a social worker in public healthcare, and later evolved into clinical practice with adults, couples, and groups.  My passion for therapy is rooted in a deep curiosity about human behavior, and the stories people carry.  I believe that all individuals have the capacity to grow, change, and live more fully aligned with the best versions of themselves.  I am invested in my clients’ success and strive to support meaningful, effective change.  I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I understand change to be an active and intentional effort shared between therapist and client.

What approaches inform my practice?  Get ready for the acronyms…My clinical training includes Advanced Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) intensive training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and introductory training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO). I have a strong passion for working with couples and am Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman Method trained, with additional experience and interest in supporting ethically non‑monogamous (ENM) relationships.  My work with couples also includes specialized education addressing relationship dynamics during pregnancy and the transition to parenthood.  Additionally, I have a particular interest in working with individuals with ADHD and am actively pursuing further training and certification in this area.

  • What can you expect from working with me?  From our first session, you are invited to show up as you are, knowing that you will be met with respect and without judgment.  It’s okay to be messy, awkward, quirky, and unpolished (don’t tell anyone, but I am too).  We will openly discuss roles, expectations, and goals so that our work feels clear and collaborative.  Throughout therapy, I strive to provide a safe, attentive, and supportive space where you can explore your experiences, reflect on what you are navigating, and gain perspective in a way that feels grounded and meaningful.

My practice reflects who I am as a person and a therapist - eclectic, authentic, insightful, and curious, with a dialectical lens and a touch of sarcasm, irreverence, and dry (sometimes unexpected) humor. I truly love this work because it allows me to connect with people in meaningful, impactful ways while continually challenging myself to learn, grow, and evolve.  I believe accountability is essential, and I hold myself to the same standards I invite my clients to hold for themselves.

On a personal note, I have a slight obsession with the following: plants, gardening, summer, true crime, history, documentaries, podcasts, writing, fitness, and football (the NFL kind).

I would love to speak with you about your therapy goals and see if we could make a great team.  Let’s connect!

“The world gives you so much pain and here you are making gold out of it.” — Rupi Kaur

I believe therapy is a space for healing, growth, and meaningful change. Life can feel overwhelming when you are navigating difficult experiences, relationship challenges, or transitions that leave you feeling stuck or disconnected. My role as a therapist is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, build self-understanding, and reconnect with your strengths.

I strive to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to show up authentically, while also being gently challenged toward growth. I believe healing happens through connection, honesty, and sometimes humor—because even in life’s heaviest moments, laughter can be part of the process too.

My approach is relational, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I primarily draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support clients in navigating overwhelming emotions, building coping strategies, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned and meaningful. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

  • Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 10 years as a classroom teacher, which shaped the patience, curiosity, and relational approach I bring into my work today. Additionally, my work with TELUS Health has further deepened my ability to support individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns in a collaborative and compassionate way. I value warmth, humour, and authenticity in my own life, and I aim to bring that same energy into the space I hold for others.

Sydney Devlin

clinic coordinator

As the clinic coordinator at Lihtan Therapy Collective, I’m the primary point of contact for clients—supporting initial inquiries, answering questions, and helping people feel oriented and at ease as they begin connecting with our services.

I understand that reaching out for support can take courage. I approach each interaction with care, clarity, and respect, and I’m intentional about creating a calm, non‑judgmental experience from the very first conversation. Whether I’m helping you find the right therapist, clarifying next steps, or responding to logistical questions, my aim is to offer support that feels warm, reliable, and grounded.

I’m a recent graduate of a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media, with a minor in Psychology. This background allows me to pair clear, thoughtful communication with an understanding of the importance of safety, relationship, and attunement within a therapeutic environment. I value consent, transparency, and flexibility, and I strive to meet each person where they are—honouring the uniqueness of individual needs, identities, and lived experiences.

I will not rescue you,
For you are not powerless.

I will not fix you.
For you are not broken.

I will not heal you.
For I see you in your wholeness.

I will walk with you through the darkness,
as you remember your light
